I am delighted to share that the Northern Lights Strength Deck has found its global home. Signed with the U.S.-based publisher RedFeather Mind Body Spirit (Schiffer Publishing Ltd.), this oracle system is set for a worldwide release in 2027.
What began as a personal, handmade exploration at my desk in Umeå is now stepping out to offer a bridge for the "secular soul"—an intellectually robust tool for operationalizing resilience and growth.
Weaving Two Worlds Together
For the past few years, I have moved in the liminal space between the measurable and the felt. Many in my professional network know me through my work at RISE (Research Institutes of Sweden) or within sustainability strategy—a world built on logic, evidence, and systemic transformation. I am not leaving that foundation behind; I am building upon it.
To me, this published release is not a departure from my path of strategic leadership, but a deepening of it. We live in a time that demands more than just analytical sharpness; we need access to our intuition, our ethics, and our ability to create meaning in a complex landscape. These cards are mirrors for the present, designed to help us see ourselves and our choices more clearly in the raw, honest light of the North.
The Science: The VIA Classification
Character strengths are the positive aspects of your personality that influence how you think, feel, and behave. Unlike many abstract spiritual tools, this deck is fundamentally rooted in laboratory research, systematic testing, and data analysis.
The deck is built upon the VIA Classification of Character Strengths and Virtues. This scientific framework identifies six core virtues—Wisdom, Courage, Humanity, Justice, Temperance, and Transcendence—each composed of universal strengths that transcend culture and time. By working with these strengths, we can navigate life’s paradoxes and identify the "next obvious step" in our personal and professional lives.

While grounded in science, the deck draws from the rich tradition of Nordic folk spirituality—a practice often dismissed, yet filled with ancestral wisdom. Each card offers a layered experience, weaving together multiple systems of meaning-making:
- Tarot Mirrors: Every strength is paired with tarot archetypes to illustrate a spectrum of balance—showing the card in its optimal use, underuse, and overuse.
- Nordic Herbal Folklore: Every strength is associated with an herb linked to Arctic Scandinavian hedge witch practices, such as myrrh or fireweed.
- The Chakra System: Virtues and strengths are assigned colors corresponding to the seven chakras, aligning with the rainbow spectrum of light.
- Linnaean Visuals: The imagery is inspired by the 18th-century work of Swedish botanist Carl Linnaeus, using the beauty of scientific classification to order our inner world.
- Animal Allies: Each virtue is represented by an animal guide drawn from Nordic folklore traditions.
Deck Structure
The Northern Lights Strength Deck is a 33-card oracle system. It includes:
- 30 Strength Cards: Rooted in the VIA framework and expanded through magical symbolism.
- 3 Mystical "Wild" Cards: Leap of Faith, Magick, and Intuition. These cards serve as your bridge to the unknown, reminding us that not everything meaningful can be measured.
- Comprehensive Guidebook: Featuring practical exercises, spreads, and scientific context, the guidebook makes the deck accessible for both personal self-reflection and professional use by coaches and therapists.
